I'm not much of a gamer, due to reasons throughout the years that just made me not very interested in gaming. My path took me down to writing and movies and tv shows. I do like board games, but not really having many people to play board games with and not really having the schedule to really commit to a game like Dungeons and Dragons, I have not played it.
My knowledge on the world of Dungeons and Dragons is very small, only a little understanding from word of mouth and a little insight from it from shows like Big Bang Theory. So I went into this movie with the understanding that I might not understand it very well, but I would have a unique look on it. Judging it as a story and a movie rather than judging it if it remains true to a game. Back in July I started working at a movie theater, so it gave me a little more access to seeing movies. I enjoy not only that plus but the whole environment I work in so much better than my previous job. I didn't get to see this movie before its release, but I did go on my day off and watched it!
Big names and familiar faces are what brought my interest in this movie, and the trailer made it look very interesting and I love Fantasy stories! Though, my lack of interest in games, might've turned some readers away or they are already judging on what my opinion might be. Just know my opinion is just that, my opinion. I always encourage people to make their own opinions on movies and shows. This site is just a way to just write on things or read things I've enjoyed or didn't enjoy. And to encourage people to go to the movies! Especially in the times of streaming and after Covid, movies are still a fun experience!
I digress, Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Theives for me was an amazing experience and movie! I enjoyed every minute of it! So much so that I preordered it as soon as I left the theaters.
Amazing acting, it was everything a movie should be! Something that tears you away from reality and helps you forget for just a little while that it is not real!
Now that it is out digitally, I'm excited to share it with my mom and friends who didn't get to go see it in theaters!
I honestly wish I could watch it on the big screen again, but I'll manage with just watching it again at home! I do recommend this movie to everyone that loves fantasy and just loves the game! I hope those that enjoyed the game do enjoy the movie, but I can't speak for them.
Dungeons and Dragons is out digitally now and will be available in Stores, May 30th! I hope you take my advice and enjoy the film like I did!
